No, the McNair Scholars Program is a federally-funded Research Program designed to encourage students from first-generation/low-income and/or underrepresented backgrounds to consider careers in college teaching as well as prepare for doctoral study. At Buffalo State our program is designed as a two year experience where students develop research skills which aid them in their graduate career.

What documentation do I need to provide for low income status?
The student can provide a copy of their FAFSA that is on file with the college and/or a copy of their parents/guardians's signed federal tax return. If you are legally independent, you can provide a copy of your personal tax returns.
